Hide Files, Folders and Drives
Hiding files within Windows does not truly hide a file. Knowledgeable users can often find hidden files. FShield provides a powerful mechanism that truly does hide files and folders. Whilst the security is enabled, there is no way to view the file through Windows.

Prevent Access to Files and Folders
The low level file driver used by FShield allows you to create powerful filters that can prevent access to files and folders. Access can be prevented in terms of executing a program and opening.

Force files and folders to be read only
Files can be forced to be read only in such a way that only an FShield Administrator can change the files properties.

Restrict Access to the Control Panel
There are a number of methods to try and secure the Control Panel. FShield tackles the problem a different way and actually blocks access to the control panel files at a low level. This allows you to safely and securely restrict access to any or all of the Control Panel items.

Create User based Protection
An advanced feature built into FShield allows you to create protection filters based on the Windows User. Specific users or user groups can be prevented from reading, writing or viewing files and folders.

Prevent Users Installing new Software
FShield can allow you to block installations. This can be done by preventing Windows Installer Runtimes from being accessed, blocking executables, blocking anything containing setup in the name, and more.

Prevent Internet Explorer Downloads
FShield even allows you to specify what programs are allowed to perform what operations. In this case, you can tell it to prevent Internet Explorer from creating any new files. This essentially blocks it from downloading. It can also help to protect it from nasty BHO's that attempt to takeover your browser and your computer.

Prevent Access to Applications
Access to applications can be blocked throughout the system, or by specific user.

Prevent Access to Removable drives
If your PC contains removable drives but you don't want staff or customers to use it under normal circumstances then FShield can help. Using FShield you can block all access to drives, or only allow users to read files.

Prevent reformatting of drives
FShield includes the option of preventing format operations within Windows.

FShield has a built in security system that only allows Administrators by use of a secure password. Users will not be able to change your settings.

Test Mode
Experimenting with file and folder protection patterns can be a risky business. Not with FShield! We provide a built in test mode. Should you run into problems at any point, all you need to do is to reboot the PC and would settings will be back to normal.
